Lauren and her Mom

Capital Formation and Strategy Associate at Sixth Street

Growing up in the small town of Camas, Washington, Lauren Rood developed a lifelong passion for soccer, supported unwaveringly by her family. When Lauren joined a large club team in Seattle, her mother regularly drove seven hours roundtrip to take her to practice. She also spent weeks at US national training camps as a teenager where she met some of her future Stanford teammates. In her sophomore year in high school, Lauren committed to playing soccer for Stanford, where she won two national championships with her team. She earned her BS in Management Science and Engineering with a concentration in Finance and Analytics.

When Covid hit in 2020, Lauren was a senior at Stanford. That year, she secured a summer internship with the San Francisco-based alternative investment firm, Sixth Street Partners. This internship led to her working full-time with Sixth Street, where she is currently part of the Capital Formation and Strategy team.

Lauren began volunteering with America SCORES through Sixth Street volunteer days, loved the experience, and decided to up her game even further, joining the board in 2024. She’s particularly interested in leveraging her fundraising experience and engaging new volunteers through leadership positions with the organization.

And she’s still playing pick-up soccer!
